The Brooklyn Mae Carroll Foundation is proud to partner with NC Wildlife to install our first 100 Permanent Designated Sober Captain signs at public boat ramps across North Carolina. These signs serve as a reminder that every trip on the water should begin with a sober operator, helping prevent impaired boating tragedies and protect families for generations to come. Every sign represents our commitment to honoring Brooklyn's legacy by helping make our waterways safer for everyone.

Congratulations to Noa Turner, Morgan Martin, and Mareena Cox, recipients of the 2026 Brooklyn Mae Carroll Memorial Scholarship. Each student was awarded a $5,000 scholarship in recognition of their character, kindness, and commitment to their future. Together, these scholarships reflect Brooklyn's enduring legacy and the generosity of those who make our mission possible.

Brooklyn Mae Carroll was pure joy, a light who filled every space with laughter, curiosity, and love. She had the biggest heart and an endless capacity for kindness. Brooklyn wanted everyone to feel happy, included, and loved. With her big heart, funny sense of humor, and contagious joy, she made friends everywhere she went. Brooklyn's favorite activities included riding horses and spending time with her family, friends, and her dogs.
At just 10 years old, Brooklyn had already touched countless lives with her compassion, creativity, and her ability to make everyone around her feel seen and valued.
On August 2, 2025, Brooklyn’s life was tragically cut short by a drunk boater. While her time here with us was far too brief, her spirit continues to shine brightly through the memories, smiles, and love she left behind.
This space honors Brooklyn’s life through the foundation created in her memory - Whispers of the Wild, The Brooklyn Mae Carroll Foundation. Celebrating the way she lived, not just how she was lost. Through The Brooklyn Mae Carroll Foundation, we carry her legacy forward with purpose: raising awareness, inspiring change, and working to ensure no other family has to endure the heartbreak of losing a precious child to preventable choices.
Brooklyn's favorite color was blue - a color that now symbolizes hope and awareness in our mission. In her honor, we’re committed to turning pain into purpose - promoting safe boating, sober boating awareness, spreading kindness, honoring her memory, and keeping her beautiful light alive in all we do. Boat Sober for Brooklyn Mae.
The Brooklyn Mae Carroll Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring her memory by sharing the values and spirit she embodied with the community - kindness, inclusion, and love for all.
Our mission is to honor Brooklyn Mae by inspiring positive change and empowering future generations through community involvement, advocacy, and expanding educational opportunities for youth. We are also deeply committed to promoting safer and sober boating practices and raising awareness about the dangers of impaired operation of any motor vehicle.
Through these efforts, we strive to transform heartbreak into hope - creating a lasting impact that reflects Brooklyn's light and ensures her legacy continues to make the world a better, safer place.
Join us in honoring Brooklyn Mae Carroll by making our waters safer for everyone. Your actions can save lives. Boat Sober for Brooklyn Mae.
